TRENDS: Another year, some more beards

November 5, 2023

November is the official month of the beard aka faultless style.

TRENDS: Another year, some more beards

Azfar Rehman

He has been called the method actor; his social media is meant to cater to fans. But in the month of November, Azfar Rehman has made this list based on his beard, which seems to be a cut between Short Boxed Beard and the Anchor Beard. Seen at the recent edition of IPPA Awards in Manchester, the actor mixed it up with a grey ensemble but won points for not going overboard in a bid to stand out. His beard, to be fair, did it for him.

Fawad Khan

After The Legend of Maula Jatt was done with shooting, Fawad Khan, Pakistan’s most popular actor, dropped his wild, unshaven, long neck beard and went back to his usual look while supporting his wife’s newest men’s collection,

Hazure, in a recent campaign. Though sporting what is called a Scruffy Beard, he has chosen to part with the wild version and kept a variation, which is as far from his Maula Jatt look as possible. That he is wearing a collection that feels closer to the era of the Mughals and looks princely is an added bonus. Not many men can carry such a complete look so well.

Farhan Saeed

The chocolate hero with a cleaner look, Farhan Saeed is celebrating the comeback of the mustache. But not completely wild, he has chosen to err on the side of caution and can be seen in a variation of the Short Boxed beard. It comes naturally when you let facial hair grow but make a point to clean it up and trim it depending on how fast your beard tends to appear.

Atif Aslam

Atif Aslam, the voice that has been serenading us for at least a decade likes to mix things up. On a recent tour, Aslam let his hair down, literally, after the shorter hair in a drama series and mixed it up with an unkempt scruffy beard. It is wild just like Aslam’s but doesn’t go below the face. He hasn’t trimmed it so it does look wilder but not as experimental.

Sunny Khan
Durrani

Rapper and singer Sunny Khan Durrani tends to sport a wild and unshaven look with his beard going past his jawline. He may not be starring in a Maula Jatt sequel but he knows how to rock this not-so-neat beard wherever he goes, including in music videos or on Instagram. And yes, we will mention Maula Jatt as much as possible because it was the real game-changer for Pakistani cinema and we refuse to go back to anything less in the name of cinema’s comeback.
