Mannat and Murad have been brought up in families with different values and circumstances. Murad, being the only son in a household with four daughters, naturally holds a special place in his mother’s heart; an accurate depiction of a stereotypical desi household, where this dynamic is quite common. Consequently, he struggles to make decisions independently, often seeking his mother’s approval, even as he occasionally finds her involvement overwhelming.

On the other hand, Mannat has also experienced a nurturing and affectionate upbringing in her family. Following her parents’ tragic demise in an accident, she found herself under the loving care of her brothers. Particularly, her elder brother, who decides not to marry to ensure he gives his undivided attention to Mannat. While the drama doesn’t delve deeply into Iqra’s character as of yet, it’s evident that she possesses a strong and resolute personality. This becomes apparent when she takes a bold stance against a harassment case and persuades her brother to pursue a job, showcasing her unwavering determination.

In these scenarios, desi ladies often take pride in their sons, considering them valuable assets, while viewing daughters as burdens. This intricate dynamic is effectively portrayed through the character of Murad’s mother, Razia, brilliantly portrayed by Irsa Ghazal. In her relentless pursuit of finding ideal matches for her children, she refuses to compromise.

As a result, one of her daughters finds herself in an unhappy arranged marriage, while another remains unmarried, even after years of trying to find a partner for her.

The creators of the show also make a commendable effort to address mental health issues sensitively and effectively. This is notably portrayed through the storyline of Murad’s elder sister, who requires therapy. However, her mother denies her mental health struggles, attributing them to mere rudeness. In fact, a pivotal line, delivered by Irsa Ghazal’s character, leaves us pondering: ‘Pagalon ki doctor ko dekha kar thapa lagwa doon,’ echoing the sentiments of many individuals in the country.

The drama also excels in portraying healthy family dynamics and non-toxic relationships. In Murad’s household, there are no instances of sisters conspiring against each other out of jealousy or ill intention. Instead, a harmonious atmosphere prevails. Conversely, Mannat shares a warm and supportive bond with her sister-in-law, who genuinely wishes her well. This refreshing portrayal is a testament to Mannat Murad’s ability to break away from the norm and present an unconventional story, successfully ticking all the right boxes.

Another crucial aspect of the show is its effortless appeal. It offers a light-hearted viewing experience, sprinkled with humor that adds to its overall charm. Irsa Ghazal’s performance in the drama is truly praiseworthy. Her Punjabi dialogues add an intriguing dimension to her character, making it captivating to follow. Despite her character’s flaws, it’s evident that she mirrors the real-life depiction of many individuals within our society.

With the three episodes already building at such a good pace we have high expectations from Mannat Murad. Iqra Aziz and Talha Chahour have only had limited screen time together, but they promise a great romantic and magical on-screen chemistry.
