Instep: What makes a good Eid outfit in your opinion?

Sania Maskatiya: I believe a good Eid outfit should be a perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and cultural relevance. It should reflect the wearer‘s personal style while honoring traditional elements of the occasion. You should be able to wear it effortlessly.

Instep: Do you think Eid outfits should be elaborate? What’s the perfect amount of embellishment and the right fabric to utilize?

Sania Maskatiya: I believe that Eid outfits do not necessarily need to be elaborate, but they should incorporate some level of embellishment that reflects the festive spirit of the occasion. The perfect amount of embellishment varies depending on the design and the wearer’s preferences. Some people may prefer a more understated look, while others may want to go all out with intricate beadwork, or embroidery. The key is to strike a balance between ornamentation and simplicity, so the outfit remains comfortable to wear while still standing out as a special occasion outfit.
