Princess of hearts

January 8, 2023

There is a strong possibility that Catherine, the present Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, will become England’s future queen. Until such time though, Kate is among one of the most senior working royals, which requires being in the public eye quite often.

We adore Kate – not just because of her charitable work on pressing issues like mental health – but also because she can wear anything and look good
in the process. Here are some of her best looks from the recent days and weeks.

Who wore it best? Kate or William

The heir to the throne, William, Prince of Wales and Kate, Princess of Wales, made their first visit to the United States last year for the first time since Queen Elizabeth II passed away.

During the three-day trip, as the royal couple landed in Boston, both were seen wearing suits. William certainly looked dapper but it was Kate, who stole the scene, and had fashion enthusiasts cheering.

Opting for a dark blue Alexander McQueen suit with a matching turtleneck and navy pumps, she completed her look with the late Princess Diana’s sapphire earrings. As the couple embarked from the plane, it became obvious that Kate won the fashionable round, as pointed out by American and British media.

Lady in Red

In the aftermath of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, was initially spotted wearing muted colors, perhaps to convey the loss she personally felt in the monarch’s death. But as days turned to weeks, and King Charles III acceded to the British throne, the senior royal showed how she can carry nearly
every color.

For Royal Carols: Together at Christmas (as a TV special) – the first one without the former Queen and the first one since King Charles III’s ascension to the throne as the new monarch – Kate opted for a fan favorite look, a sparkling ruby red dress by British label Needle & Thread. Matching the look, she added red pumps, and ruby Soru earrings to finish the look. It’s not the first time she has worn the dress (with same accessories). She made a debut with the same ensemble during January 2020 at a reception hosted by Kate and William at the Buckingham Palace.

Even though she repeated the look for the Christmas pageant, she looked as dazzling – if not more – during the TV spot for the pageant in December 2022.

A Certain Shade of Green

The Prince and Princess of Wales traveled to the United States to promote William’s Earthshot Prize, which gives each of the 5 winners approximately 1.2 million dollars.

For this year’s event, William came dapper as ever in a bespoke suit but it was Kate who turned heads at the prominent, star-studded event. Showing a leg, for this royal gala, she cut a glamorous look, wearing a full-length gown by Solace London. Keeping sustainability in mind, a UK-based platform, rented the luxury outfit from HURR, which facilitates “the reuse of designer dresses”. Kate finished her look with accessories that belonged to
Princess Diana including an emerald and
diamond choker.

Blue Jeans

Princess of hearts

Released before the Queen’s passing, Kate Middleton showcased you can look stylish in something as casual as a pair of jeans. This became apparent as Prince William and Princess Catherine (Kate)
released their annual Christmas card as a family photo. The entire family has new titles but, in this photo, they have dropped the glamour and collectively opted for the casual look. Joined by George, Charlotte and Louis, Prince of Wales wore a casual navy shirt and jeans but it was the Princess of Wales’s departure from muted tones and royal glamour that had us convinced she is a fashion icon. Wearing dark jeans with white broderie anglaise blouse, she stole the moment. As for the kids, each of them also opted for simple, casual attire.
