While we celebrated Pakistan Day with heightened patriotism over the airshow above Clifton beach, the fashion industry flew out some dazzling representation of Brand Pakistan. On March 23, in an event organized to create some chic representation of Pakistan in Germany, Élan showcased a solo collection in Berlin. Accompanied by Sherezad Rahimtoola’s spectacular jewels and a performance by Zeb Bangash, the event - organized by Sadia Siddiqui of Mustang Productions - hosted ambassadors from around 37 countries and put out a very glamorous image of Pakistan in Berlin.
"Pakistani fashion needs to be promoted not only in Berlin but worldwide," Zahir Rahimtoola, a key player in organizing this event spoke to Instep upon his return. "Berlin to me is a stepping stone. Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, our Ambassador in Germany was most receptive to the concept of #BrandPakistan, which is the need of the hour as we need to promote Pakistan and its industry. To me #BrandPakistan is about promoting Pakistani fashion, films, jewellery and music and to start this process the best of Pakistan was on show in Berlin. Khadijah Shah with her exquisite and especially made Bejewelled Rose Élan Collection; Sherezad showcased her Zamarud Collection and Zeb Bangash enthralled the audience.
