The hashtag #UrwaFarhan has been trending all week, with wedding preps for the celebrity couple Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed in full swing. Elaborate invitation boxes went out to just about everyone they knew; the boxes designed by Fiza Gillani (ex-PM’s daughter) and filled with chocolates. The cards had a long list of thank yous at the back, confusing people as to why the wedding was sponsored by several designers. We don’t think it was; this was just the happy couple sending out ‘warm hugs’ to people who had helped design their fairy tale. And so the dholkis - in which we saw a whole lot of the Hocane sisters and not much of anyone else - wrapped up with the nikkah at the Badshahi Mosque on Friday (again, a very private affair) and today is the big reception, where hundreds of celebrities are expected to show up.
