Promotional tours and film premieres - that’s where all the fashion statements were being made this week and we were following happily, turning our noses up at red carpet faux pas (there were enough of them) and gushing over style statements that made our stars look like a million dollars. Lahore Se Aagey premiered, with Yasir Hussain and Saba Qamar hitting and missing on their appearances. The promotional tour for Dobara Phir Se is underway, and the cast is mostly on point, simply because you have three gorgeous women, two of which have also spent time as fashion models. Across the border, we’re seeing a lot of Alia Bhatt making appearances for Dear Zindagi. In better times we would have seen Ali Zafar on that trip as well. And further beyond, in the fabulous world of Marvel, we saw Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams glam things up for premieres of Doctor Strange.

Saba Qamar

Saba Qamar has eastern appeal and carries her style flawlessly as long as she stays within South Asia for inspiration. While her dresses and gowns looked terribly wrong, she looked splendid in this Zainab Chottani sari, at the premiere of Lahore Se Aagey in Karachi. Saba was apparently recovering from a spine injury but she was quite a trouper to go through the evening in heels and a bedazzling smile.

Alia Bhatt

Promotions for Dear Zindagi are underway and Lavish Alice has been Alia Bhatt’s go-to label on several accounts recently. The thing we love about Alia is that she dresses her age and likes to do the youthful, sporty, fun look as we see here as she tops up a blue jumpsuit with a topknot, red lips and ox blood strappy sandals. It’s casual and cool.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams

Benedict Cumberbatch is difficult to ignore but he was apparently overshadowed by his co-star Rachel McAdams as she turned up at a Doctor Strange premiere in this sheer and ruffled couture gown. Designed by Elie Saab (Couture 2016 collection), the ruffles added romance to the outfit, which enhanced her petite frame thanks to the belted waistline.

Sanam Saeed

Sanam Saeed, as smart and fashionable as she is, has made some pretty weird wardrobe choices in the past. However, she was spot on in this black and deep jewel toned satin top by Shehla Chatoor. The sleeves added dramatic flair while the belted waist kept things streamlined. Sanam’s hair and makeup and minimal accessories also enhanced the chic look.
