Drugs, illicit weapons recovered

CHAKWAL: The Chakwal police Saturday arrested several accused and recovered drugs and illicit weapons from their possession.
Following the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Munir Masood Marth, the police in four operations arrested the accused.
Police arrested Umair Saeed of Chakwal with one bottle of liquor, Zameer Hussain of Mohallah Bhtian Dhudial with 120 gram charas, Babar Ameer of Sarkal village with 110 gram charas and Yasir Irshad of Naka Kahout village with a shotgun.
Separate cases were registered against the accused.
SAPLINGS: Divisional Forest Officer Saqib Mehmood Saturday said more than 300,000 saplings will be planted in district during the spring tree plantation campaign. Addressing a high-level meeting at committee room, he said the saplings would be planted on important points of the highway and at government institutions. DCO Mehmood Jawaid Bhatti presided over the meeting. EDO Health Dr Alamgir Nawabi, EDO Finance Shahbaz Naqvi and officers of other relevant departments also attended the meeting. The DCO said the spring plantation drive would be started throughout the district and at tehsil level from February 24th. He appealed to the people to plant more saplings.
