19 cops demoted on SC orders

OKARA: District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Rana Monday demoted 19 police officials who were granted shoulder promotions.
The DPO demoted the police officials following direction of the IGP police.
Their shoulder promotions were challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) and the apex court announced the verdict against their promotions.
The demoted officials include sub-inspectors Noor Ahmad, Abdul Hameed, Akbar Javed, Abdur Rashid, ASIs Muhammad Siddiq, Muhammad Ashraf, Ghulam Mustafa, Jahangir Mujahid, Shaukat Ali, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Younus and Muhammad Akram, constables Bushra Musa Bibi, Sher Muhammad, Zulfiqar and Sultan Sikandar and constables C-1 Hussain Ahmad, Muhammad Siddiq and Amir Hanif. The SC also ordered recovery of all emoluments they received during their promotion period.
