Choosing party candidate from Gujrat is Moonis’ discretion: Shujaat
LAHORE: The head of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has authorised his nephew Moonis Elahi to award the party ticket from Gujrat in the next general elections.
Talking to journalists, the former prime minister said Moonis being MNA from Gujrat would decide about the party candidate for the provincial assembly seat from the city. Flanked by Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi, Shujaat said Pakistan Army is the protector of the country and it knows how to handle the country.
He said that all parties should forget their differences and give their suggestions to curb inflation, adding Pakistan is going through a critical phase, everyone will have to work together to find a solution.
On the occasion, Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi said: “Shujaat Hussain is our elder; he makes the family’s decisions.”
The political scenario will change in next few years as new faces will emerge, said Parvez, adding that due to wrong policies of PMLN, people were to face inflation as the prices of essential commodities rose to the extent that it became difficult for the poor to make ends meet.
