Lal Masjid cleric ‘pardons’ Musharraf, others

ISLAMABAD: Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Aziz on Sunday said that he has pardoned former President Pervez Musharraf and others responsible for an operation against the mosque and its adjacent seminary.
He was talking to a hurriedly arranged press conference at Jamia Hafsa. He said he has ‘pardoned’ those allegedly responsible for the death of his mother, brother, son and other friends for the sake of the imposition of an Islamic system in the country.
He demanded of the government to impose Shariat. His statement divided Shuhda Foundation whose president Tariq Asad has parted ways with the cleric announcing that he will lay out his future plan today (Monday) in a press conference in the mosque at 3:00pm.
