Dacoit killed in encounter

HAFIZABAD: A dacoit was killed while another arrested during a police encounter here on Friday.
On a tip-off, the police raided a house to arrest dacoits at Mohallah Rehmatabad but the dacoits opened fire at the police party. In retaliation, a dacoit later identified as Awais was killed on the spot while Gulfam was arrested with weapons. The police claimed that Awais committed suicide due to fear of arrest.
BIKER KILLED IN ACCIDENT: A man was killed while two others sustained injuries in an accident near Bypass Kassoke on Friday.
Hamza and Shahid were on their way by a motorbike when another biker Jehangir collided with their vehicle and they all fell on the road. In the meantime, a speeding truck coming from behind hit them. As a result, Jehangir was killed on the spot while Shahid and Hamza were injured.
