Inadequate security arrangements
IUB’s Khawaja Fareed Campus sealed
From Our Correspondent
BAHAWALPUR: Police on Wednesday sealed the Islamia University Bahawalpur’s Khawaja Fareed Campus, Railway Road, for not adopting proper security arrangements.
The police led by DSP City Shafqat Ata sealed the campus amid the resentment expressed by the Dean Faculty of Pharmacy and Alternative Medicines Prof Dr Mehmood Ahmad and other staffers. The DSP asked the students to vacate the campus and later sealed it. Talking to the media, the DSP said that the police and the district administration had asked the varsity’s administration to adopt proper security measures but the university’s administration did not take adequate security arrangements. The students of the varsity told media that they were also scared of inadequate security measures at the campus. Meanwhile, the DSP City also sealed the Government Postgraduate College, One Unit Chowk, and the Government College of Technology for Women, on the same grounds.
