NBP, SSGC set final date in CNS Hockey

KARACHI: NBP and SSGC won their respective semifinals with contrasting margins in the inaugural CNS All Pakistan Hockey Tournament at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium here on Wednesday.
NBP thrashed PIA 3-0 with Mohammad Amir, Shan Irshad and Mohammad Dilber scoring.
The second pre-final was a tough contest as SSGC edged out stubborn Navy 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Navy took the lead in the 23rd minute when Akbar Ali converted a penalty corner. SSGC equalised in the 52nd minute when Rizwan Ali scored a field goal.
The match was locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
SSGC surpassed Navy in penalty shootout as four of its players scored, while Navy’s three players managed to net.
