Dacoits have a field day in Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA
Locals were deprived of cash, cellphones and valuables in different areas of Gujranwala in 22 strikes on Saturday.
In Sadr Kamoke police station area, bandits intercepted Ali Raza and his wife and snatched Rs 22,000, gold and a cellphone. In Tatlewali Yasir was deprived of Rs 33,000 and a cellphone by dacoits. In Ladhewala gunmen took away Rs 13,000 and a cellphone from Hassan. In Alipur Chattha robbers snatched Rs 26,000 and two cellphones from Manzar Ali. Adil was also deprived of Rs 25,000 and two cellphones in the same area. Dacoits snatched Rs 22,000, a wrist watch and a cellphone from Yasir Ali in Sadr Wazirabad area. At Gakhar Mandi Shabbir was deprived of Rs 24,000 and a wrist watch by robbers. At Ahmadnagar bandits snatched Rs 21,000 and a gold chain from Nadeem. At Eminabad area bandits snatched Rs 20,000 and two cellphones from Ahsan.
In City Kamoke area robbers intercepted Usman and took away his new motorcycle. In Sadr Wazirabad police station limits Muhammad Ahmed was deprived of Rs 25,000 and a cellphone.
In Qila Didar Singh robbers snatched a motorcycle from Ashar. Robbers snatched new motorcycle from Asad Cheema. Motorcycles of Zaheer, Aqil, Fakhar, Umar, Rehmat Bhatti and Musa were stolen from different parts of the city.
PRISONER INJURED: A prisoner was injured during a brawl in a court’s lockup here on Saturday. The police brought prisoners, Irfan, Tariq, Ali Raza and Rashid, from the Central Jail for hearing and detained them in the court’s lockup. In the meantime, Tariq and Irfan started quarrelling and after exchange of harsh words, Tariq, Ali Raza and Rashid allegedly attacked Irfan with a sharp-edged weapon and injured him. The police have registered a case against Tariq, Ali Raza and Rashid. The injured prisoner was shifted to the DHQ Hospital.
injured: A female student fell down from a motorcycle and suffered critical injuries in Pakpattan on Saturday.
Shahida Bibi, 15, was coming back to home with her relative on a motorcycle, when they reached near bus stand she fell down and sustained critical injuries. She was rushed to DHQ hospital.
MINOR SUFFERS BURNS: A minor girl suffered burns on Saturday. Seven-year-old Nimra of Shabbir Chowk was playing in her house near a fire when suddenly fell on the fire and burnt her 40 per cent body. She was rushed to DHQ hospital.
SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A woman attempted suicide on Saturday.
Chanan Bibi, 25, of Joyia Kalia area reportedly exchanged harsh words with her family members and consumed poison. She was rushed to DHQ hospital, Pakpattan.
POWER SHUTDOWN: Electricity supply will remain suspended in the areas of grid station of city Pakpattan and grid station of Noorpur area on January 25 from 9:30am to 3:30pm for necessary repair work. A Wapda press release stated this quoting an SDO on Saturday.
