Court grants physical remand of Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal, Col (retd) Sabahat Qadeer Butt, Waseem Aslam till January 29
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi, on Thursday arrested the three main accused namely brigadier (retd) Javed Iqbal, ex-administrator of Defence Housing Authority (DHA), and Col (retd) Sabahat Qadeer Butt, ex-Director Project of DHA, for misusing their authority and violating the contract by selling allotment certificates of DHA Islamabad illegally and in violation of the agreement between the DHA and M/s Elysium Holdings Pakistan Ltd.
The accused, Waseem Aslam, who was the CEO of M/s Elysium Holdings Pakistan Ltd, had also been arrested for causing a loss to the DHA and illegal sale of non-saleable certificates of the DHA in violation of the contract agreement and without payment to the land owners.
The management of M/s Elysium Holdings Pakistan Ltd, in connivance with the ex-management of DHA, had caused a huge loss for not completing the project namely DHA-I Ranches and had sold certificates of DHA Ranches in violation of contract agreement. A formal inquiry is under process at the NAB Rawalpindi.
The Accountability Court granted the physical remand of the three accused namely Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal, ex-administrator of DHA, Col (retd) Sabahat Qadeer Butt, ex-project director of DHA, and Waseem Aslam, ex-CEO M/s Elysium Holdings Pakistan Ltd, till January 29.
