20 swine flu patients in Nishtar Hospital

MULTAN: There are 20 swine flu patients in the Nishtar Hospital, said Epidemic Control Programme focal person Dr Attaur Rehman.
Talking to The News here on Thursday, he said that 45 patients with suspected swine flu virus came to the hospital but the virus was confirmed in 20 patients. He said that they had been waiting for the result of one patient. He said that eight patients belonged to Multan, one to South Waziristan, two to Vehari, two to Muzaffargarh and one each to Jhang, Khanewal, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan and Bahawalpur. He said that five patients had died during the last some days.
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, DCO Zahid Salim Gondal said that the City District Government constituted special teams to curb the seasonal influenza in the district. He said that the staff involved in dengue eradication campaign had been engaged in swine flu prevention campaign. He feared rise in dengue larva growth from February after change in temperature.
