Orders issued to arrested 14 govt officials

GUJRANWALA: In the light of inquiry reports, ACE Director Rana Abdul Shakoor on Thursday issued orders to arrest 14 government officials, including DDO Roads Mian Zafar and Sub Engineer Nadeem.
The ACE had received applications regarding corruption and fraud against DDO Roads Mian Zafar, Sub-Engineer Nadeem, Inspector Roads Malik Iftikhar, Patwari Iftikhar, Abdul Hannan, Akram Haider, Faryad Ali, Aroop police station Inspector Muhammad Shafi, ASI Muhammad Nawaz, Sialkot DCO Office clerk Malik Ghulam Raza, DHQ Office clerk Abid Razzaq, Local Government Department Naib Qasid Muhammad Afzal and reader Saad Afrazyab. During inquiries, the allegations proved against them.
Gepco XEN killers arrested
Accused say target was another officer, not XEN

GUJRANWALA: CIA police have arrested the killers of Gepco XEN Mazhar Nawab, said SP City Tahir Maqsood Cheena.
In a press conference here on Thursday, he said that the XEN was gunned down on January 12. He said that a police team used scientific method of investigation and succeeded to arrest accused Maratab Ali Awan and Malik Siffatullah.
During preliminary investigation, the accused said that they had an old enmity with Gepco officer Javed Iqbal Chattha, who was friend of XEN Mazhar Nawab and Dr Zahid Hussain. The accused, Maratab, said that they had attacked Javed twice but he remained safe. In the first attack on December 23, 2015, Dr Zahid was injured while in the second attack XEN Mazhar was killed.
