Prime Minister Imran Khan will officially open the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Thursday in a special video that has scenes and sequences similar to the one recorded for the London Olympics 2012.
The PSL video starts with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja entering the PM Office and requesting PM Imran Khan to come with him like Hollywood star Daniel Craig did in the London Olympics video.
It can be seen in the video that the premier then walked off with Ramiz Raja for the opening ceremony and opened the league officially with a message for all the teams, asking them “to fight till the last ball and provide entertainment to the people”.
It seemed that the PCB has taken inspiration from the UK Queen and recorded the video in the same style.
According to reports, the video was first leaked online and later shared on official Twitter handles of PTI.
Meanwhile, the cricket board has made all arrangements for the opening ceremony of the PSL 2022 which will be held tomorrow at the National Stadium Karachi.
Unlike the previous edition, when the COVID-19 situation forced the PCB to limit activities, singers Atif Aslam and Aima Baig will perform live at the opening ceremony.
The organisers are hopeful of staging a successful event despite the challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic.
