Truck loaded with govt wood seized

BHAKKAR: Forest officials Tuesday seized a truck loaded with government wood.
Reportedly, on a tip-off, the officials seized a truck that was being loaded with wood by some thieves. To see the official, the thieves fled and left the truck.
RECORD RECOVERY: The Excise Department has made a record recovery to the tune of Rs 2.5 million in connection with motor vehicle tax during the last 14-day general hold-up drive.
According to District Excise Officer Muhammad Ali Naveed, some 109 vehicles were challaned, 35 auto rickshaws were seized and Rs 500,000 deposited in the government treasury.
During the drive, he said, some 600 motorcycles, 350 rickshaws and 40 tractors were registered.
