Shop sealed as girl dies after eating salad

OKARA: District Officer Health Dr Mehr Irshad sealed a shop after a 10-year-old girl died and her mother and two sisters fell unconscious after eating salad from it.
Muhammad Imran of D-Block bought salad from the shop at Gole Chowk for home on Thursday night. Imran’s wife and three daughters, including Maham, ate salad and fell unconscious. They were rushed to the CMH where Maham died. On Friday morning, the DOH raided the shop along with his staff and sealed it.
2 DRUG PUSHERS HELD WITH CHARAS: Police on Friday arrested two drug pushers and recovered charas from them in separate incidents here.
On a tip-off, B-Division police raided and arrested Latifan Bibi, widow of Muhammad Anwar of Faisal Park, and recovered 1,700 grams charas from her. In another incident, City Depalpur police raided and arrested Imtiaz Ahmad with 1,110 grams charas. The police have registered separate cases.
