Ibrahim cruises into tennis tourney semis

KARACHI: Ibrahim Iltifat recorded a straight-set victory in the quarter-final of men’s singles event in 14th Westbury Open Ranking Tennis Championship here at DA Creek Club on Wednesday.
Ibrahim faced little resistance from Shoaib Abbas in the last-eight encounter and recorded a convincing 6-3, 6-0 victory.
Zain Nawab also walked into the semi-finals when he beat Dawar Rehan 6-2, 6-4.
In another quarter-final, Farhan Mustafa thrashed Abdul Rehman 6-1, 6-2. Marib Malik recovered from a set down to beat Azher A Qadri 5-7, 6-0, 6-3 to secure a place in the last-four stage.
