Three die in road accidents

BAHAWALPUR: Three people were killed in two road accidents on Monday.
A speeding truck collided with a tractor trolley on Bahawalpur-Rahim Yar Khan national highway near Channi Goth, killing tractor trolley riders Muhammad Siddique and Muhammad Ajmal of Chakwani dead on the spot and two truck riders injured. The second incident took place near Chak-44 Fateh where Abdul Hameed, an agriculture department staffer, was killed when he was hit by a speeding truck on Chishtian-Dharanwala road.
PROTEST AGAINST POLICE: Hundreds of locals of Chishtian and its adjoining villages and relatives of Muzamil Hussain, who was shot dead by robbers on Friday, staged a protest on Monday at Arain Minor area against police.
The protesters blocked traffic on the Chishtian-Haroonabad Road for many hours against police failure to combat robberies in Chishtian police circle.
