Pakistan must minimise Saudi Arabia-Iran tensions: Khursheed Shah
SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shed Khursheed Shah, talking to the media here on Saturday, said Pakistan being a nuclear power has to play its role for minimising the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which is in the best interest of the region.
He reiterated upon Saudi Arabia and Iran to maintain peace in the region. He said that Pakistan will not compromise on peace.
Talking about the confrontation between Sindh and the central government, he said Chaudhry Nisar has not yet contacted Chief Minister Sindh. He said Chaudhry Nisar was creating issues for Nawaz Sharif. He said the team of Mian Nawaz Sharif would be responsible if any untoward incident happens with Dr Asim, who is being tortured and his health condition is not stable.
He said the Sindh government is taking interest in peace in Karachi and is in the favour of the Karachi Operation, but a certain team of the prime minister does not want the same and is creating problems while there is no any fault of the Sindh government.
He said the statement of the Ahsan Iqbal about the Zhob project being inaugurated by prime minister had created confusion. However, he reiterated upon the PM to follow the recommendations of the APC, which proposed the Pak-China Economic Corridor, which will be equal and on equity base for all provinces. He said a change in the Western route will affect the transparency of the project. He said there were reports about patronising of the Daesh by Punjab, that’s why Pakistan faced allegations of the Pathankot attack. He reiterated upon the central government to strengthen the Federation.
Syed Khursheed Shah said the grand alliance against PPP, led by Pir Pagara will not affect the party.
