Act now

July 30, 2021

Last year, the entire world witnessed the devastating effects of a lethal virus we now call Covid-19. In the last few weeks, the world saw the horrible effects of climate change. The latest episodes of the disastrous floods, heatwaves and wildfires that were witnessed in different parts of the world have highlighted the devastating implications of climate change. Even though Pakistan contributes only a little to the world’s carbon emissions, it is likely to bear the brunt of climate-induced disasters.

The last few weeks, however, have shown that even developed countries are not safe from the worst effects of global warming. The past events must be a wake-up call for those developed countries which are destroying nature in the name of industrial growth. These countries should also ensure that it is delivering on the promises it made under the 2015 Paris Agreement. Hollow claims will not serve the purpose.
