LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Monday suspended the cane commissioner’s order for registering FIR against Pasrur Sugar Mills over the charges of not paying the price of sugarcane to the farmers. The mills administration through its counsel pleaded that the cane commissioner had issued an illegal order as the mills had been regularly making payments to the farmers. After hearing the preliminary arguments, Justice Shahid Karim suspended the cane commissioner’s order and issued notices to both the parties.
