Two robbers held in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested two robbers and recovered illicit weapons and cash from their possession.

Sargodha Road police raided a home at Millat Town and arrested two dacoits identified as Sharafat Ali and Asad Ali, residents of Hajvery Town, and recovered cash and illegal weapons from them. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to commit crimes on Sargodha Road, Millat Town and Peoples Colony. Further investigation was underway.

Nine SHOs transferred: City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Ch has transferred nine Station House Officers (SHOs) in the district. According to a notification, Inspector Ayub Sahi was transferred and posted as SHO Khurrianwala, SI Zafar Iqbal as SHO Sadar Faisalabad, SI Asif Nadeem Butt as SHO Chak Jhumra, Batala Colony police in-charge investigation Syed Qasim Abbas Gohar as SHO Sahianwala, SI Saqib Riaz posted at Police Lines, Dijkot police in-charge investigation Rai Asif Khan as SHO Peoples Colony, SHO Shahid Ali Awan at Police Lines, SHO Samanabad Muhammad Junaid Nazir transferred to Police Lines and SI Mian Asgar as Samanabad police SHO.

10kg hashish seized: Sadar police arrested two drug peddlers, including a woman, and recovered hashish from their possession. Police said on Sunday that a police team headed by SI Ziaullah set up a picket near Mohallah Elahiabad Chak 225-RB, Malkhanwala, Satiana Road. The police team signaled a suspected car (LEC-5121) to stop but its driver accelerated the speed in panic, due to which, the car crashed into a wall. Police arrested the car driver Ilyas and Sobia, wife of Muhammad Amin, residents of Sahiwal. During the search, the police recovered 10.5kg hashish from the cavities of car.
