Cop among 2 shot dead in Haripur
HARIPUR: Two people, including a cop of the Islamabad Police, were shot dead in the district on Sunday. It was learnt that Muhammad Nazakat, a constable of Islamabad Police, belonging to Dheenda village in Haripur, had come home to celebrate Eid with his family. After Eid holidays, he was going back to Islamabad on his motorcycle when an unidentified gunman opened fire on him. He died instantly as he was hit in the head, hospital sources said. His body was taken to the Haripur Trauma Centre.
The motive behind his murder could not be known. The police registered a murder case against unidentified accused.
Meanwhile, one Muhammad Ikram and his brother Ehtesham allegedly barged into the shop of Muhammad Javed in Hattar village and opened fire on him with pistols, killing him on the spot. The killing was linked to enmity.
