Faisalabad master plan in final stage: FDA
FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Dr Faisal Azim Sunday said the Faisalabad master plan was being given final touches after consultation of all stakeholders.
Addressing members of All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA) here, the FDA DG said the master plan would be a remarkable milestone for the organised and advanced development of industrial, agricultural and socio-economic sectors and concrete steps were being taken by FDA in this regard.
He expressed hope that the rapid development would emerge by implementing the Faisalabad master plan and the facilities of road network, bridges, hospitals, educational institutions, community centres, parks would be managed as per the ratio of population quantum beside besides increasing the beauty of the city.
He said the planning was being made to construct two thousand houses at the available land in FDA City under Nia Pakistan Housing Programme.
He maintained that the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) had also been made active by FDA to resolve the issues of traffic flow and vehicles parking through scientific planning.
Vice Chairman WASA Sheikh Shahid Javed, other office-bearers Rehan Ashraf, Muhammad Amjad, Mian Aftab Ahmad, Ahmed Jamal, Muhammad Haroon, Basharat Ali, Umer Afzal, Muhammad Yasin, Akram Sh, Asif Sh, Muhammad Shahzad, Ch Habib Gujjar, Bao Abdul Sattar, Safeer Shahzad , APTPMA members were present on the occasion. The DG said the traders and industrialists were the backbone of the economy and playing pivotal role in increasing the foreign exchange. He assured that the industrialists would be kept associated with the process of development and their suggestions/proposals would be welcomed in this regard.
He thanked the APTPMA for inviting which provided the opportunity to exchange views relating to City issues and development.
APTPMA office bearers and members welcomed FDA Director General Dr Faisal Azim and informed the details of welfare activities for the different segments of the society under APTPMA platform.
They informed that the APTMA was taking part in the city development projects side by side with the government and district administration besides generating a lot of employment opportunities and earning foreign exchange through export of textile products after fulfilling the local requirements. Later, a souvenir was presented to the FDA Director General by APTPMA.
ANOTHER CORONA PATIENT DIES: Another corona patient died here on Sunday. According to a spokesperson for the Health Department, the COVID-19 death toll had reached 1,148 in the district.
He told that 14 people had tested positive for corona positive during the last 24 hours. He said 666 tests for coronavirus were conducted in public and private sectors during the same period. He said so far, 20,501 patients had recovered from the disease while total active cases in Faisalabad had reached 184.
