Abbottabad residents protest against Cantonment Board
ABBOTTABAD: Residents of several flood-affected areas of Abbottabad district here on Wednesday blocked the main Kakul road for at least three hours to protest against the Cantonment Board for not pumping out floodwater which ultimately damaged their houses.
Additional SP Abbottabad Malik Ejaz, additional CEO & other officers, after dialogue, succeeded to reopen the road and also signed a charter of demands with the action committee.
During the protest rally, the flood affectees were chanting slogans against the cantonment executive officer and other staff who failed to clear the drains and nullahs.
They criticised the district administration, elected representatives, Local MPA and MNA who did not bother to visit the flood-affected areas and record sympathies with the people.
