Blasphemy accused shot in Multan

MULTAN: Unidentified assailants shot a blasphemy accused when he was coming to appear before an additional sessions judge here on Tuesday. The accused received five bullets and was rushed to the Nishtar Hospital in a critical condition.
The accused, Shakir, had been accused of blasphemy in a case registered in 2019. He was on the way to attend the hearing of his case when unidentified persons opened fire at him. Shakir’s relatives said the complainant shot Shakir. The complainant, Khizar Hayat, had lodged a complaint with the police in 2019, stating that Shakir committed blasphemy. The Challan of the case was submitted in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Hassan Ahmed.
