State institutions will soon follow Nawaz narrative: Maryam
ISLAMABAD: The PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz said Monday the country would soon witness a change as the institutions would follow former prime minister and her party's supremo Nawaz Sharif's narrative.
Maryam, while addressing an election rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Leepa, said: "Your enthusiasm is telling me that the lion will roar once again in Kashmir. Imran Khan should not come to the region and waste his time, as it has announced its decision."
The PMLN leader said Maryam and Nawaz Sharif could not sit idle if injustice is being done to the people of AJK.
"I saw young soldiers of the Pakistan Army almost everywhere in the Neelum Valley. I greeted them, and they saluted me. They are stationed far away from their homes to protect us," she said. "The salaries of soldiers had increased during Nawaz's tenure, and they will not move up in PM Imran's regime; even Nawaz's enemies acknowledge his patriotism," the PMLN leader said.
Maryam said the PTI-led government had put Pakistan's progress in "reverse gear" and asked whether he wanted to do the same in the region. "Do you want to form your government over here to snatch wheat and sugar from the people of Kashmir? Will you make them stand in lines (for basic necessities?)" she asked. The PMLN leader alleged that the PTI government was spending money to buy votes ahead of polls in AJK. She said if the government attempted to rig elections in AJK, Raja Farooq Haider and PMLN would stage a sit-in in Islamabad. Maryam Nawaz alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan, who used Pakistan's resources ruthlessly in Azad Kashmir elections, was caught red-handed distributing money.
“I did not come here to seek votes, I have come to see the secrets of Kashmir on the campaign, Kashmiris are very beautiful people,” she said. Maryam said that the NAB could not prove the allegations against Nawaz Sharif. “I am indebted to the people on both sides of the LoC for not only voting for the lion but also for guarding it,” she added.
“A tunnel is needed in Leepa Valley. It will definitely be built by the Nawaz Sharif government,” she added.
Reacting to Maryam’s speech, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill said propaganda of PMLN would not work in Azad Kashmir this time.
He said the PMLN's forgery expert (Maryam Safdar) was selected for election campaign in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
“She resorted to lies instead of telling the worst performance of PMLN in Kashmir,” the SAPM said, adding, instead of going there and taking photoshop photos, it’s better to inform Kashmiris about her party’s incompetence. Incompetent people were ruling Kashmir for the last five years, he added.
“Instead of fighting the Kashmir case, those who developed personal relations with Sajjan Jindal today disguised themselves as fake Kashmiris to seek votes,” he said.
“In the past disqualified PML-N leaders developed ties with India, instead of supporting the Kashmir cause,” Gill said, adding that on the other hand Prime Minister Imran Khan fought the Kashmir case aggressively and effectively.
