LAHORE: The Gilgit-Baltistan government has started work on making its own law on the lines of the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013.
According to official sources, on the instructions of GB Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid, Senior Minister Lt-Col (retd) Obaidullah Baig invited Chief Information Commissioner Punjab Mahboob Qadir Shah to visit Gilgit-Baltistan to discuss legislation there for providing the public with facility of easy access to information.
Mahboob Qadir Shah met GB Speaker Syed Amjad Ali, Deputy Speaker Nazeer Ahmad, Information Minister Fateh-Ullah Khan and Senior Minister Obaidullah Khan during his visit. He discussed technical issues of the Right to Information law with these officials.
