Vilification campaign continues against Asif Zardari: Mandviwalla
ISLAMABAD: Former deputy chairman Senate, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, has said the only source of livelihood for some people is to run a campaign against former president Asif Ali Zardari.
“The fabricators of fake stories are certified forgers. These are the same forgers who had falsely claimed to have recovered Rs70 crore and 10 kg gold from the Governor's House at the time of former president Asif Ali Zardari's arrest from the Governor's House in Lahore in 1996 and that too from a small brief case,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Salim Mandviwalla said the claim of getting Rs33 billion by liars in a reference against Asif Ali Zardari is a complete lie and a tactic of the media trial.
He said former president Asif Ali Zardari has been a target of anti-democratic forces for the last 33 years. “They had even fabricated a story about a bomb being attached to someone's leg and a false drug case was also initiated against him but former president Asif Ali Zardari faced these false allegations in the courts and was honourably acquitted,” he said.
He said the fact was that former president Asif Ali Zardari has been a target of Bhutto's enemies since 1988.
He said those who made false allegations against Asif Ali Zardari were humiliated in the past and will face humiliation in the future as that is the fate of these elements.
