Army lift women handball trophy in Abbottabad

ISLAMABAD: Star-studded Army won the 15th National Women Handball Championship edging out strong Wapda 27-24 at Kunj Stadium in Abbottabad.
Army skipper Ayesha Dilshad exhibited quality skills netting 17 goals in the process, securing the title for Army. Nusrat Bano (Wapda) turned out to be the best scorer for her team managing six goals.
Wapda started off the final in a brisk manner and were leading 13-12 at the breather. Army then took over, staging remarkable recovery with Ayesha leading the way.
Asma Altaf and Zobia Shehnaz also played attacking game to pin down defending champion Wapda to emerge winners of the championship.
