ACs directed to retrieve govt land

OKARA: The District Coordination Officer (DCO) Thursday asked assistant commissioners of the district to retrieve government land from illegal possession at all cost.
Chairing a meeting of the members of administration in his office, the DCO also directed the TMA officials to remove all encroachments from streets, roads and parks.
He said a legal action must also be initiated against violators.
ADC/Administrator TMA Ijaz Munir, ACs of the district and other officials of the administration attended the meeting.
BAR PAPERS: Six lawyers submitted their papers to contest District Bar Association polls for different slots.
Rai Muhammad Arshad Raza, Rao Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Siddique Arain, Maqbool Ahmad Gujjar, Saghir Ahmad Harni and Rao Abid Mushtaq submitted the papers for the slot of president, Muhammad Adnan Lukman and Khawar Ali Khan for the slot of senior vice-president, Malik Muhammad Yar and Muhammad Tahir for the slot of vice president, Naeemullalh Chaudhry and Syed Sher Iqbal Shah for the slot of secretary general, and Uzma Parveen and Nasreen Akhtar for the slot of library secretary, Abdur Rehman Malik, Yasir Nadeem and Muhammad Naeem Aslam for the slot of auditor’s office, and Sheikh Asghar Ali Saqui and Waqas Hussain submitted papers for the slot of secretary finance.
The election commission had accepted all nomination papers of the candidates.
