Accord signed for Jhang sanitation system

JHANG: The district government on Thursday signed an MoU with the National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak) to prepare a master plan of sanitation system of the city for the next 25 years.
The accord was signed during a ceremony held in the DCO Office. Speaking on the occasion, DCO Nadir Chattha said the District Development Committee had approved the project to resolve the issue of sanitation at a cost of Rs 17.4 million. He said that the Nespak experts and engineers will remain in the city for three months and about 18 teams will complete field work by observing population growth, extension of Sadr, City and Satellite Town besides level of streets and roads. Due to poor sanitation and choked drains, underground water of the city had also been polluted, he added.
