Sibi bakes at 47°C
LAHORE: Partly cloudy but humid weather was witnessed in Lahore here Friday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
The officials said that a shallow westerly wave was affecting upper parts while moist currents from Arabian Sea were also penetrating in central and upper parts of the country. They predicted that dust/thunderstorms at scattered places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. However, hot weather was expected in other parts of the country while very hot in plain areas.
Rainfall was recorded at several cities, including Cherat, Pattan, Lower Dir, Astore, Bagrote and Garhi Dupatta. Friday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Sibi where mercury reached 47°C while in Lahore, it was 40°C and minimum was 28.6°C.
