Nasir to face Farhan in DG Rangers squash final
KARACHI: Favourite Nasir Iqbal and second seed Farhan Zaman cruised into the final of the 9th DG Rangers National Squash at Sindh Rangers Jahangir Khan Squash Complex here on Wednesday. Representing WAPDA, Nasir Iqbal took 25 minutes to beat third seed Tayyab Aslam of ZTBL, recording a convincing 11-7, 11-2, 11-3 victory.
Second seed Farhan Zaman of PAF defeated fourth seed Farhan Mehboob of WAPDA 12-10, 11-7, 11-8 in 29 minutes.
Top seed Sadia Gul of SNGPL faced tough resistance from third seed Muqaddas Ashraf of WAPDA. Sadia dropped the first set before making a strong comeback to record a 9-11, 12-10, 12-10, 11-5 victory in 44 minutes.
Second seed Samar Anjum of SNGPL ended the giant-killing run of unseeded Faiza Zafar of NUST University to record a 11-5, 11-7, 11-5 victory in 21 minutes.
