Shelter homes should be set up for protection of children: MPA Qureshi
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist and Sindh Assembly member Shahzad Qureshi has said that according to statistics, 980 cases of child abuse have been reported in Sindh and millions of children are being subjected to forced labour in private institutions.
More than 100,000 children are forced to beg, and the mafia makes children beg, which is not possible without the connivance of the police and the government, he said, lamenting that unfortunately, no action has been taken against child abuse.
Shelter homes should be set up in all districts for the protection of children, Qureshi said while addressing the Sindh Assembly. He further said that corruption takes place round the clock in Sindh. The chief justice of Pakistan has said that there is no government in Sindh, they cannot clean a single drain, and if this government continues, then the people of Sindh can be saved only by Allah.
The PTI lawmaker said that Jinnah Hospital is also in a very bad condition. He said that Imran Khan gave more than 60 billion rupees for the Karachi package. He said that diseases were on the rise in the province, the rulers of Sindh talk about online education, but teachers cannot spell correctly.
Qureshi remarked that it is easy to blame the federation, but the people of Sindh will not forgive these rulers. The MRI machine in a Civil hospital has been out of order for three years, our District South is deprived of water, and the citizens of Karachi are being deprived of jobs, but the rulers of Sindh will have to give jobs to the people of Karachi, he added.
Damage to private property in Bahria Town is the responsibility of the Sindh government, he said, adding that if we give importance to Sindh then Sindh will develop. He called for proving in practice that Karachi is a part of Sindh.
