PHC seals 132 outlets of quacks
LAHORE:While continuing its anti-quackery campaign, the Punjab Healthcare Commission carried out a big crackdown in 12 districts last week and closed down 132 outlets of quacks.
The PHC enforcement teams inspected 1,161 treatment centres during the last week. They found that 47 qualified physicians had started treating patients on the previously marked quacks’ centres.
As many as 207 inspections were conducted in Rawalpindi district and 17 centres were sealed there. Twenty backstreet clinics were sealed in Kasur, 15 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 13 each in Khanewal and Gujranwala, 12 in Lahore, 10 in Nankana Sahab, nine in Vehari, seven each in Chakwal and Sheikhupura, five in Multan and four in Lodharan.
In Lahore, Al-Jannat Clinic, Azan Clinic, Kashif Clinic, Karamat Clinic, Jia Bhagga Medical and Gynae Centre, Husnain Clinic, Zaman Medical Store, Dental Home and Nutrition Centre, Fakhri Clinic, Rasheed Clinic, Shabbir Ahmed Homoeopathic Clinic and Ali Clinic were sealed.
