Seven people were injured in different parts of Karachi on Sunday, with four of them suffering gunshot wounds and three others being stabbed, according to the police.
An Aziz Bhatti police official said Sheharyar Asif Jamil, 16, and Sameerullah Asadullah, 20, were standing outside their house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal when two men on a motorbike tried to rob them of their mobile phones.
The official said they were shot over resisting the attempt to mug them, adding that they were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). In another incident, Akhtar Sharif, 35, was shot in Bhains Colony, according to an official of the Sukhan police station. The official said he was taken to the JPMC.
Aftab Ashraf, 50, was shot in Mehmoodabad. Police said he was taken to the JPMC, adding that his brother had shot him over a family dispute and fled. A Jamshed Quarters police official said two people were stabbed in a clash between two groups, adding that the injured were taken to the JPMC.
A Docks police official said Mumtaz Akbar, 33, was stabbed in a clash in Machhar Colony, adding that the injured was taken to the Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi.
