250 arrested in Kohat search
KOHAT: The police on Tuesday arrested 250 suspected persons and recovered arms from them during a door-to-door search operation in parts of the district, an official said.
District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Sohaib Khan told reporters that the police launched the search operation against militants, criminals and anti-social elements under the National Action Plan (NAP) in Jangalkhel, Lachi, Tough, Bilitang, Cantonment Board Kohat, city and surrounding localities and made the arrests. He said the arrested persons also included four Afghan nationals and several proclaimed offenders.
The official said the police also recovered eight Kalashnikovs, 10 rifles, eight Kalakov rifles, 30 pistols, four kilogram of hashish, three hundred grams of heroin, two bottles of liquor and hundreds of cartridges from them. He said the police also booked owners of several houses for renting out their properties in violation of the tenancy laws.
