Couple shot dead for ‘honour’ in DI Khan
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A couple was shot dead for honour after appearing in a court in Bhittani Abad on the Dera-Tank road in the limits of Sadder Police Station on Thursday.
The police said that 22-year old Jamil Ahmad, a resident of Hissam village, along with his wife was going home on a bike after appearing in court in a case pertaining to solemnising marriage against the will of (S Bibi) family.
They said that a car chasing the couple first hit their motorcycle at Bhittani Abad on the Dera-Tank road and then the occupants of the car equipped with arms opened fire on them.
As a result, the two were killed on the spot.
The accused were identified as Allah Nawaz, Shah Nawaz, Iqbal and Arif, who are said to be close relatives of the woman.
Soon after the incident, the police and Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot and took the bodies to the Civil Hospital, Dera Ismail Khan for post-mortem.
The bodies were later handed over to the relatives after medico-legal formalities.
The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
