Nasir in DG Rangers (Sindh) squash quarters
KARACHI: Top seed Nasir Iqbal confirmed his presence in the quarter-finals of men’s event in 9th DG Rangers (Sindh) squash championship 2015 when he beat Ali Bokhari in straight sets at Sindh Rangers Jahangir Khan Squash Complex here on Monday.
Nasir dispatched Ali Bokhari 11-7, 11-2, 11-2.
Sixth seed Asim Khan defeated Safeer Khan by 11-6, 11-3, 11-9. Qualifier Raees Khan secured an unexpected place in quarter-finals when he defeated Asif Khalil by 8-11, 11-4, 11-3, 11-3.
Third seed Tayyab Aslam thrashed unseeded Bilal Zakir by 11-6, 12-10, 11-2.
Farhan Mehboob, seeded fourth in the event, defeated Kashif Asif by 11-3, 13-11, 11-1.
Unseeded Zahir Shah stunned fifth seed Shaikh Saquib, beating him by 11-2, 11-7, 11-3.
Eighth seed Waqar Mehboob got a walkover against Abbas Shoukat. Second seed Farhan Zaman trounced Zeeshan Khan, recording a 11-3, 11-5, 11-7 victory.
In women’s event, top seed Sadia Gul defeated Madina Zafar by 12-11, 7-11, 11-7. Rushna Mehboob beat Zahab Kamal by 11-2, 11-0, 11-6.
Qualifier Komal overpowered Aiman Shahbaz by 11-9, 11-9, 12-10. Third seed Moqaddas Ashraf trounced Noor Ul Ain Ejaz 11-4, 11-6, 11-8.
Fourth seed Saima Shoukat defeated Noor Ul Huda 11-4, 11-4, 8-11, 11-7.
Unseeded Faiza Zafar elbowed out sixth seed Anam Aziz by 11-6, 11-3, 11-4.
Fifth seed Raffat Khan overpowered Amna Fayyaz by 11-6, 11-5, 11-7. Second seed Samar Anjum thrashed Maira Saleem by 11-4, 11-1, 11-2.
