Shaukat Tarin’s speech on budget positive, simple: Chaudhry Shujaat
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Ch Shujat Hussain has said Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin’s speech on the budget was positive and simple.
He said on the speech figures, jugglery has not been resorted to. Unlike in the past, it was not a traditional political speech in which the prime minister was praised the most so that the next morning the prime minister could be told as to what good they scored, but instead there was more focus on the problems of the common man.
In a statement issued here on Friday, he said the budget is beneficial only when the salaried and working segments get practical benefits because the salaried segment is most affected by the tax. The business segment can cover up its loss by selling a thing of two rupees for four rupees but the salaried segment cannot increase its income itself as that all depends upon the owner. Shujat said if the capitalist segment in view of the price hike and prevailing circumstances put aside a special part of profit of its business for the employees, the common man can get better, this will earn him the pleasure of Almighty Allah and Allah will add Barkat to his income and business.
