PHF introduces level-3 coaching course
LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has decided to introduce level-3 coaching course under the coach capacity building programme.
According to PHF secretary Asif Bajwa, the international and Asian federations will support PHF during these coaching courses.
Coaches of all departmental, provincial and district units will be included in the course. Successful coaches will move on to Level 2 and Level 1 courses.
PHF plans to close the gap between international hockey and domestic hockey via these coaching courses.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has slipped down in FIH’s latest rankings. Pakistan moved from 17th to 18th position in the world rankings. Pakistan’s non-participation in international matches led to the decline, said Bajwa.
International events were postponed due to Covid-19, which led to a drop in Pakistan’s rank, he added.
Wales, ranked 17th, recently won points in the European League and improved their rankings, said Bajwa. He added that participating in international events would give Pakistan team a chance to improve the ranking.
