PPP no more part of PDM: Maryam Nawaz
ISLAMABAD: The PMLN vice-president Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday said that since the PPP is not a part of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) anymore, therefore, it was not her priority.
Maryam Nawaz while talking to media persons outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) said there are no differences in the PDM and everyone is on the same page. "We all share the same ideology and the parties in the PDM have the same position which Nawaz Sharif has," she maintained.
To a question whether the PML-N was still stuck to resigning from assemblies, she said resignations could have been evident and beneficial had all the opposition parties agreed to the proposal. When asked to comment on reports in international media that Pakistan has once given its air bases to the US, she said it was a serious matter but the government had not denied reports. Maryam also wanted to ask the government as to what deal it reached with the US. “Whether they are doing so to save their government," she questioned.
Meanwhile, the PPP advised Maryam Nawaz that she should not use the name of PDM in principle and morally as the existence of the PDM itself is questionable without the PPP and ANP.
“The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari defeated Imran Khan in the NA while Maryam Nawaz's politics has supported the Imran government,” said the PPP Secretary Information Shazia Marri in rejoinder to Maryam’s remarks.
