Smooth sailing for Kamran as PTF Junior Tennis begins
ISLAMABAD: It was easy sailing for Kamran Khan as the First PTF Development Series Junior National Ranking Tennis Tournament got underway at the PTF Complex.
Kamran got the better of Mamoon Ilyas 6-2, 6-1 for a place in the second round of the under-18 event.
As many as 26 matches were played on the first day. Matches started at 4:30pm to avoid the extreme weather conditions and continued till late night under floodlights.
Under the instruction of ITF, Covid-19 SOPs were observed and no spectator was allowed to witness the matches.
Salim Saifullah Khan, President Pakistan Tennis Federation, congratulated young players and wished them good luck in their efforts to excel. He also advised them to adhere to the Covid-19 SOPs to avoid any untoward incident.
