Police on Wednesday arrested the Mujawar of a shrine in the Saudabad area over the death of a woman.

According to police, an elderly woman who was a resident of Malir’s Khokhrapar area, had left her home for the shrine on May 1 and had been missing since then. Her husband registered a complaint for her disappearance at the Khokhrapar police station. With the help of the mobile phone location data, police reached the shrine and arrested its Mujawar who told them that the woman had been visiting the shrine for two years.

He added that she came to the shrine on May 1 but she was seriously ill and died there, after which he buried her at a graveyard in the Saudabad area. Police said they had traced the woman’s grave and her body would be soon exhumed.
